Sixty State Place

Sixty State Place in Albany NY was a former centerpiece of financial extravagance that has been transformed into an exquisite main ballroom and luxury event venue designed to host special events and social engagements. Restored by The Gordon Companies in 2013, Sixty State Place now combines the most modern amenities while retaining the beauty and elegance of the building’s historic origins.

In 1902, to instill an affluent and awe-inspiring splendor, National Commercial Bank and Trust hired York and Sawyer to create their headquarters, a building later labeled a “temple of finance.” Over 100 years later the exquisite styling and details captured by the Beaux-Arts neoclassical style are still evident.

Grandeur and elegance abound in our majestic main ballroom with 45′ Carrera marble walls. Set against a backdrop of breathtaking architectural design and dazzling décor the ballroom is an ideal canvas for creating your one-of-a-kind event. Seated functions within the ballroom can accommodate 350 guests, 225 when maintaining a live band and dance floor. Combined with the entire venue, Galas can accommodate 700 guests. The bridal suite is 100% preserved from the original 1902 construction. One of the most intriguing parts of Sixty State Place are the hidden doors within the bridal suite that lead to private on-suite restrooms and an additional point of entry.

Our VIP Vault Room was crafted from the original bank vault with a 6’ round steel door and the safety deposit boxes still intact. Our guests are able to take in the magnitude of old world building skills. Custom booths have been added to accommodate the relaxed feeling that the Vault instills in all our guests.
